Nobody Knows

My lover left me but nobody knows
Back to her family but nobody knows
She's got a new job but nobody knows
She left me empty but nobody knows

So I bought a shotgun but nobody knows
And I bought some shells but nobody knows
I'll only need one but nobody knows
It's just as well that nobody knows

I'm leaving early but nobody knows
I'm going sailing but nobody knows
Out on the river where nobody knows
Set out my anchor where nobody knows

Drink lots of whiskey but nobody knows
Ain't gone to miss me but nobody knows
Empty the bottle but nobody knows
Drink my last swallow but nobody knows

I'll take my shoes off but nobody knows
A shell in the chamber but nobody knows
I'll kiss the barrel but nobody knows
A toe on the trigger but nobody knows

I'll put my foot down but nobody knows
One final flash now but nobody knows
They'll think I'm drownded but nobody knows
One final splash now but nobody knows

------Incidentally I just noticed that today is the one year anniversary of this blog.
Whoop-de-fuckin-do. Technically it's not really until next month since it was a month between the first and second posts because I'm an idiot. Happy Happy unbirthday to me.

Worlds Shortest Personality Test x 3

Ganked from Green Eyes over at A New Start. She writes some kick ass erotica! Anyway I couldn't decide on which image I liked best so I picked the three I liked best in this order. I did the "6 weird things about me" meme but I'm scared to post the stupid thing. It scares me. Just a thought: wouldn't it be nice if once and a while you'd see one of these personality tests that said "You're an idiot. You're completely insane and people should stay away from you at all costs. In fact, anyone who reads this should call the police immmediately and report you." I bet they wouldn't be as popular. None of the choices had a bad side. Show me a person like this and I'll tell you we're in Stepford CT. Nevertheless these make me feel sexy so why not? I can suspend disbelief to make myself feel better about me. So take it! Deeper! That's it! Right there! Oh GOD yes!

Scheherezade Vs. Salome

I took part in The Scheherezade Project today. Go see. Why not Learn How To Play? I had confused Scheherazade and Salome in my head. Salome wanted John the Baptist's head. Scheherezade was the woman who told the king 1001 tales. I wonder if it's mentally significant that I had confused them?

New wood!

No, not like THAT you pervs! I made new teak hatch covers and generally redid all the wood on the boat as oiled teak. Varnish is nice but it takes too much maintenance. You need literally 40 coats to make it work and the varnish isn't cheap or easy to put on (like me). With the oil I just oil up my wood every time I'm on the boat (OK, yes, now it sounds dirty) and it stays spic and span. In other news I removed the carburetor of the outboard and cleaned it all out, put it back together (no spare parts!) and she runs like a top now. Yay! Finally TOM PETTY TONIGHT! Psyched! Road trip though. It's in Mansfield Mass. No tickets left for Madison Square Garden. I plan to come up with something special for HNT tomorrow so watch this space. Love ya! W00t!

Spit and polish

Well, here's the new paint job. It came out stellar if I say so myself. The gold cove stripe rocks!Click the images for larger views. Now if I can just get the outboard to run! Damned thing.

Here she is primed, sanded and ready for painting:

Here she was with the old paint, old wooden mast, old green bottom paint. She needed love.

Zappa Plays Zappa

At The Beacon Theatre NYC Ruth Underwood, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Dweezil, two young keyboard players (male and female) who doubled on horns and some drummer and guitar player I didn't recognize. Steve Vai and Terry Bozio came on about halfway through. High points were The Black Page, Zombie Woof, Peaches en Regalia, and Nanook of the North/St. Alphonso's Breakfast. They played a lot of stuff I didn't recognize other than being obviously Frank Zappa. They played something else from Hot Rats I don't know the name of. Definitely worth the $50 and a schlep into the city. My buddy is an even bigger Zappa fan than me and he didn't recognize everything. He claimed a lot of it had to be early stuff since he knew everything from about 1970 on. They started at 8PM sharp with a movie of Frank jamming two songs but I can't remember the names. After intermission the band played a song and it was kind of like the Nat/Natalie Cole thing. They had extracted Frank's guitar solo from a recording and played it (with video of him doing it) and they played the song (presumably to a click of some sort) and "jammed with Frank". It was good though frankly (pardon the pun) I felt it was a bit morbid. Still I imagine it was pretty cool for Dweezil. He was nowhere near the commanding stage presence that Frank was so mostly it was the Napoleon Murphy Brock show. At one point Dweezil was "directing" the band (and the audience cheering in sections) they way Frank used to with hand signals. That was pretty cool. Steve Vai is, of course, an insane evil guitar God. Dweezil is pretty damned good too though at times between the two of them I was like "OK already with the "wheedly deedly deedly wheee!" Sheesh. All in all pretty stellar though. I give it 5 thumbs up. Go. See them. Go.

Monday Monday

So good to me? Not so much. busy weekend. Saw KT Tunstall Friday night. Got hammered. Worked on the boat. Played another rooftop extravaganza. Missed the last train out and slept on the floor at Grand Central waiting for the AM train. What kind of city doesn't run the trains after 1 AM on weekend nights? That is arguably one of the most annoying things about NYC. Sure the subway runs all night but not the commuter trains that go where I live. Sheesh! Sunday went to see X-Men even though it was a beautiful day. Excellent movie. I recommend it. Last night worked on the boat some more. Tonight going to see Dweezil Zappa doing his dad's music with his dad's old band. Shades of Ziggy Marley. Oh well. Everything old is new again. Peace.

WHAT is UP?

Blogger has been really slow and unfriendly lately. People have been switching to wordpress and typad in droves it seems. I hope Blogger gets it together. Notice how well things worked until Google bought them? Bah. Thursday is a bad day to be down too. I miss my comments! Anyway, apropos of nothing, here's a license plate my pal and buddy Lori snapped for me. Apparently there's an earlier version of me out there somewhere. Upgrade people! AndyT13 is a FAR superior product to AndyT 5. 4 out of 5 researchers say so! The 5th one is wearing cement shoes in the East river. You have been warned. Gratzie!

HNT and funny meme

Time for something different. Here I photoshopped my favorite babe into a pretty dress and out of her stressful job into the country. I did it in like 2 minutes at work so the photoshopping sucks but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. In other news it's been a while since I did a silly blogger meme so...in this one you type "(your name) needs" into google and write down the first ten results. These were so funny I had to post 'em. HHNT!
Andy needs a BAD girl to find his focus!
Andy needs no help!
Andy needs a Pint!
Andy needs to upload new pictures!
Andy needs a New Pair of Shoes!
Andy needs an Entry!
Andy needs to get you know what!
Andy needs to park his car in the garage!
Andy needs to p[ut in the work!
Andy needs an entire pitcher to himself!

Wonderful Wednesday

No, not really. On the other hand it could be a whole lot worse. Several of my close friends have either died or had major health problems recently and a seemingly large number of my favorite bloggy peeps are having similar issues as well. It makes me a bit nervous, like "What's that whistling sound I hear getting louder?" On the upside it makes me realize that any problems I may have are trivial in comparison. I am one lucky fuck and I'm grateful I'm not dead. The pic is one I took of my yacht club on the Hudson river from last year. My boat's the 2nd from the crop on the left but now it's white instead of blue. I made some good progress sanding the first coat of paint. Now if it would just stop raining I could finish! Bloody weather. Worked on the electrical systems last night and made some progress there as well. Life is good. My HNT pic will be late as I'm racing on my buddy's boat tonight (in the pouring rain no doubt). We are hardcore. By that I mean we are completely insane. Blogger's been a bitch this week. I couldn't post or leave comments for quite some time. Hope y'all are well.

Tuesdays suck

Looking back it seems to me that for some reason Tuesdays have suck more on average than any other day of the week. At very least it seems to be a common day for me to be in a really bad mood. Like today for instance. The gig went OK though there was one drunk guy who looked like he just lost a fight with the sidewalk who was enjoying the show entirely too much. Sometimes I'd rather have hecklers I can tell to fuck off. What do you say to the guy who "Loves You Man"? Oh well. My boat's still on land awaiting a final coat. We had a REALLY crappy race Saturday but took 4th overall for the weekend regatta. Oh well. Can't win 'em all! BTW the eye candy is Christina Agorilla. Thanks for the blowjob baby.
