Religion and Spirituality for Less!

Sorry. I was browsing Amazon.com and that product category headline(!) caught my eye. Christ, first I couldn't leave politics alone; now this? Religion and Spirituality for less... Less than what? Yes, of course they're talking about the cost of products relating to those things but really! Firstly religion and spirituality have as much to do with each other as a cow and a countess. Religion speaks for itself. Dogma. War. Ignorance. Conformity. Conscription. I have no use for it.
Spirituality is something I'm beginning to have some truck with. It's a slippery thing. If you look right at it (metaphorically speaking) it disappears but if you go on with your life with the proper attitude it's beneath, between, beside and behind you all the way. However you have to work for it. It requires being selfless and giving; concern with your fellow travellers. Introspection and reflection are required. But I can let you have it at a steal! Just send $19.95 to P.O. Box 13
Bukkake, NY 13131.

That would have caught my eye too! I don't do religion but I do like the spirituality. I think karma is something that sounds better and happens more often. ;)

I myself just can't keep myself on any one religious track and have come to the conclusion that my spirituality is what it is. I'm Jewish, I'm into a nature based religion (ie:some sort of Celtic Wicca), I believe that Jesus was a great prophet and a pathway to God for lots of people, I am what I am. What I believe isn't available for $19.95, that's for sure!! I do read lots of good books on spirituality, though, and that helps. Religion can be good when it's individualized, I believe, but it's not good when you have a group of people who just don't get that the basis of all religion is supposed to be love and doing the right thing, and they feel like they have to go around converting everyone else to their own point of view.
Much love to ya, A. Thanks for being a breathe of fresh (and intelligent) air almost every day. I need that, living in the land of plastic boobs.
